Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is home to the oldest standing structure in Miami-Dade County: a historic lighthouse first built in 1825. The park's natural beach stretches 1.25 miles in length and has repeatedly been listed as one of the best beaches in the country.
Beach chairs and umbrellas are available for rent, as are ocean kayaks, canoes or hydro bikes. Go fishing along the seawall, tour the lighthouse or anchor your boat at No Name Harbor. Grab a bite to eat at either of two restaurants: the Lighthouse Café or Boater’s Grill.

Known for its many colorful murals, Wynwood is one of the city’s most happening districts. Wynwood Walls is an outdoor museum showcasing large-scale works by some of the world’s best-known street artists. A coffee pitstop at Panther and a bite to eat at Zak the Baker are musts.

This institution has been largely responsible for the renewal of downtown Miami. Funded partially by collector Jorge Pérez, for whom the museum is named, the 20,000-square-foot glass-and-concrete space boasts some 1,800 works, including many by emerging Latin American artists.

This nonprofit indie theater regularly screens independent, foreign, art, and classic pop culture films inside the cozy 112-seat theater, and it occasionally hosts outdoor film screenings on the patio. The Wynwood location is the original, but there are now theaters in Miami Beach and Miami Shores, too.
